Carlos Bulosan

He was born in Pangasinan, Philippines. His parents are both farmers. In this manner he wanted to help his family by going to America. And his life or journey in America was not that good and awesome because they are subjected to racial discriminations and american brutalities. (they are so mean and harsh... )

Because of hardships and struggles experiencing by Carlos Bulosan and his fellow laborers. He decided and came up to write a book entitled as "America is in the Heart" that talks about his early life and his labor experiences as a Filipino in a racially divided American society.

In this manner he was able to make and wake up the Filipinos and also make realize the discriminations that was doing to them. He was also active in the Filipino labor movement in America where he advocated labor rights, good working conditions, abolition of discrimination in the workplace, and sufficient wages. He contributed a lot.

F. Sionil Jose

He was one of the best Filipino writers. He wrote his stories using the foreign medium but he has the sense of nationalism. In his novels, consisting of the "The Pretenders", "Trees" and etc.. he captures the heart of Filipino citizens while stating the lives of generations of the Samsons whose personal lives intertwine with the social struggles of the nation.

During the years of the Martial Law, Sionil Jose was one of the writers who were at the forefront of the battlefield, writing against the Marcos regime.

He received the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Journalism, Literature, and Creative Communication Arts in 1980, the Outstanding Fulbrighters Award for Literature in 1988 and CCP Centennial Honors for the Arts in 1999.

Literature, A Way of Life..

Literature, came from the Greek word "litera" which means letters.

For me literature is a "Way of Life"

-It is a development of culture and civilization
and it develops our culture and heritage also.
-Because at early times or period there was no
paper and words are written in a wall or a tablet to express your thoughts
and feelings just like in that photo .

Thats why cave men drew into the wall to express his feelings or sayings.
In other way people wrote in a leaves.

And then literature evolves into many things just like now.
Now you can see the Evolution of literature and how it develops or affects our life.

From simple things to great things.
